Deborah was born in British Columbia and lived there until she joined the Canadian Forces. During her 20 years with the military, Deborah travelled extensively across Canada. And now continues to do so for her art and inspiration. The diverse scenery she encountered in her travels inspired her to become a landscape painter in her spare time.

In 1992, having decided to give more space to her artistic side, Deborah retired from the Forces, went to art school and became a full-time artist.
